About Me 2019-12-13T16:49:35+00:00

Hey there! Thanks for swinging by my little (but awesome) piece of the internet, and wanting to learn more about the person behind Luxurybackpacking! I’m honestly so happy that you’ve found my blog and wanting to know a bit more about me, whilst also learning to travel like me. So get the popcorn out and a drink, as I fill you in on my crazy lives!

My name is Emma, and I’m a young and adventurous solo female traveller from England, who has been travelling non-stop since I finished high school in 2014. I’ve travelled to 43 countries before turning 21, and right now I’m at 57. I am very proud of this with my passport in hand, but I’m certainly not ending there, with many more countries including: Iceland, Morocco, Japan, Vietnam still on my bucket-list. I could go on but you don’t want you to get bored before I even begin!

Being just 22 years old, I don’t have the usual background of escaping the 9 to 5 and perusing the dream of travelling. I recently graduated from University in Australia, and since November 2017 I’ve been travelling non-stop around the world. You may be thinking by this point, ‘How do you afford to travel?’, ‘Did she win the lottery?’, or ‘mummy and daddy’s trust fund?’. Nope. I’ve been living a simplistic lifestyle for the past two years, worked side jobs and learned how to travel hack. Its been a lot of hard work, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. I believe if I can do it, anyone can!

This is ultimately the question every reader wants to know.

I started my travel blog back in October 2016, as a way to document my own travels, blow your mind with my photography, introduce you to destinations around the world with my travel guides and posts, and to inspire you to create a better travel life through travelling in luxury on a backpackers budget!

By this point, you may be thinking: What’s the catch with your name “Luxurybackpacking“? It’s impossible to travel in luxury on a backpackers budget!? Ah see, there you are wrong my friend! If you know how to do it right, there are thousands of easy ways to get more travel for your money. I’m not really all about cutting every single expense down to the minimum, I just want to get the biggest value out of my money. And because of this, it often leads to staying in nice places or flying to amazing countries in style. I want to teach you and give you my tips on how to do just that! I’m not ultra-wealthy or special, I am just a regular girl that shares an amazing passion for travel and luxury, and I believe that everyone should have the potential to live their ultimate dream.

If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact me. I try to answer every single email. Also, make sure to follow my journey on social media: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest.

About Me: Luxurybackpacking

Originally growing up in the English Cotswold Countryside, travelling has always been a passion of mine since I can remember. Some of my fondest memories from childhood, involved the excitement of waking up early knowing I was going on holiday!

As I’ve grown older that excitement has never gone away.  When I was just 21 years old, I’d visited 43 countries from all corners of the globe. This number currently stands at 57, and I have no plans to stop now! Exploring what the world has to offer, discovering new places and meeting travellers from all over the globe is what me happy!

My Top 3 Favourite Destinations So Far…
1. Indonesia.
2. Australia.
3. South Africa.

My journey of being a digital nomad is only just beginning, and I couldn’t be any more excited! Right now, I’m getting every opportunity to travel since graduating from University in November 2017. Since then I’ve visited New Zealand, The Cook Islands, road tripped the big lap around Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, The Maldives, Thailand, Italy, The USA and St Lucia. That’s all before 2019 started! I’m so grateful that I can work from my laptop from anywhere in the world (as long as there is wifi connection).

So as 2019 kicks off, this year will be slightly different as I’m hoping to be based out of Bali for 4 months between March and July. In January I’m heading to Breckenridge on a ski trip. Then in July off to Croatia for Ultra Europe Festival! Apart from that, nothing else is set in stone, but I have a few places which I’m keeping on my radar for this year.

Travelling has changed my life in so many ways, and I wouldn’t change it for the world. If you are open to possibilities and taking steps outside your comfort zone, then I believe travelling can change yours too!
